Job summary

Crew Life at Sea Ltd. in Cape Town is seeking a Dining Steward to join our onboard dining team. You will greet guests, assist with seating, and serve meals with professionalism while keeping dining areas clean and properly set up throughout service.

Additionally, you will monitor stock, coordinate with the kitchen, address guest concerns, and participate in training to uphold safety and sanitation standards. Flexible availability for evenings, weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous hospitality experience preferred, especially fine dining or cruise/restaurant settings.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
• Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
• Team player with a positive attitude.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must be able to pass background check and drug test.
• Must obtain travel documents and work permits.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests as they enter the dining area
• Assist in seating guests and taking orders
• Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely and professional manner
• Ensure all dining areas are clean and properly set up before, during, and after service
• Monitor and maintain stock levels of supplies, such as cutlery, dishes, and linens
• Assist in the preparation of dining areas for special events or occasions
• Address any guest concerns or complaints promptly and professionally
• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely and accurate food delivery
• Follow all safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a clean and safe environment
• Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge
• Adhere to company policies and procedures at all times
