Job summary

Old Mutual in Johannesburg is seeking a customer-focused sales advisor to provide product advice to a defined market and to manage routine inquiries. You will maintain CRM data, develop relationships, and identify sales opportunities while following scripted processes and compliance standards.

You will be the first point of contact for customer queries, contribute to business development, and ensure accurate data handling across the customer lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Education NQF Level 4 or equivalent is required.
• Proven customer service and sales capabilities are essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice on a range of products to an allocated market and are individually accountable for achieving results through their own efforts.
• Carry out standard customer service activities and handle simple customer inquiries.
• Refer more complex matters to colleagues when needed.
• Maintain CRM data accuracy and note follow-up actions from each sales interaction.
• Interview customers to clarify requirements using a multilevel sales script.
• Identify potential customers by making calls or visits to develop relationships.
• Serve as the first contact for resolving customer queries and complaints.
• Follow mandatory procedures to ensure quality and regulatory compliance.
• Support routine business development tasks and assist others with established procedures.
• Identify sales opportunities from customers and referrals to grow the client base.
• Input data into spreadsheets or standard formats for reporting.
