Job summary

The FAIS Ombud offers a 12-month Graduate Internship Programme to provide exposure and hands-on experience in a professional, target-driven environment. Successful candidates will gain practical skills through competency-based training and mentorship under experienced professionals.

Graduates will be placed in the Client Department and work closely with a dedicated mentor to develop expertise in the financial services industry.

Qualifications

South African citizen with a valid South African Identity Document.
Passion for public service and interest in the Financial Sector.
Strong academic background.
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment, learn quickly, and commit to extra hours when necessary.
Energetic, self-driven, and deadline-oriented.

Responsibilities

Register new complaints received from the public.
Assess whether complaints fall within jurisdiction in terms of the FAIS Act or the FSOS Act 37 of 2004.
Assist and guide complainants on jurisdictional matters.
Extract and summarise the essence of complaints from provided information, requesting additional details where necessary.
Refer complaints outside FAIS or FSOS jurisdiction to relevant entities.
Liaise with complainants and financial service providers to facilitate complaint resolution.
Support the team in achieving targets while ensuring procedural fairness and efficiency.
