Minimum requirements
- Must be a Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) registered with SAICA
- Minimum 1-3 years post-qualification experience or recently completed SAICA articles
- Previous employment at a Big Four firm (EY, KPMG, Deloitte, or PwC) will be advantageous
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and proficiency in IFRS
- Experience in the agricultural or manufacturing sector is advantageous
- Excellent understanding of South African tax and regulatory requirements
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Sage, or similar)
- Willingness to work full-time in the office
The successful candidate will be responsible for
- Overseeing and managing all technical accounting functions, ensuring compliance with IFRS and other relevant accounting standards.
- Preparing and reviewing accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensuring timely and accurate submission of tax returns, VAT, PAYE, and other statutory filings in compliance with SARS regulations.
- Developing and maintaining robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Managing the budgeting and forecasting process, providing detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Coordinating and liaising with external auditors during annual audits, ensuring all audit requirements are met efficiently.
- Monitoring and managing cash flow, including liquidity planning and optimization of working capital.
- Analyzing financial performance, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to senior management.
- Overseeing payroll processing and ensuring compliance with labour and tax regulations.
- Implementing and maintaining financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
