Job summary

A leading agricultural firm in Pretoria is seeking a Qualified Chartered Accountant. The successful candidate will manage accounting functions, ensure compliance with IFRS, and prepare financial statements. Qualifications

Job description
Minimum requirements
  • Must be a Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) registered with SAICA
  • Minimum 1-3 years post-qualification experience or recently completed SAICA articles
  • Previous employment at a Big Four firm (EY, KPMG, Deloitte, or PwC) will be advantageous
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and proficiency in IFRS
  • Experience in the agricultural or manufacturing sector is advantageous
  • Excellent understanding of South African tax and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Sage, or similar)
  • Willingness to work full-time in the office
The successful candidate will be responsible for
  • Overseeing and managing all technical accounting functions, ensuring compliance with IFRS and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Preparing and reviewing accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate submission of tax returns, VAT, PAYE, and other statutory filings in compliance with SARS regulations.
  • Developing and maintaining robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • Managing the budgeting and forecasting process, providing detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Coordinating and liaising with external auditors during annual audits, ensuring all audit requirements are met efficiently.
  • Monitoring and managing cash flow, including liquidity planning and optimization of working capital.
  • Analyzing financial performance, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights to senior management.
  • Overseeing payroll processing and ensuring compliance with labour and tax regulations.
  • Implementing and maintaining financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy in reporting.
