A well-established organisation is seeking an experienced Finance Director to provide forward-looking financial leadership and act as a key strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership team. This role carries full accountability for financial strategy, performance, integrity, and governance, while overseeing core finance functions including accounting, FP&A, treasury, tax, internal controls, legal liability, and financial reporting.

The organisation operates in a dynamic, operationally complex environment and offers the opportunity to make a measurable impact on financial health, efficiency, and enterprise value. This role is suited to a senior finance professional with strong leadership presence, sound judgement, and a proven track record in executive-level financial management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and execute the organisation’s financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management processes
• Oversee cash flow, treasury management, liquidity planning, and banking relationships
• Design, implement, and monitor internal control frameworks and enterprise risk management processes
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, statutory reporting, tax requirements, and governance standards
• Provide strategic financial support on business growth initiatives, capital projects, and potential acquisitions
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, driving accountability and ethical financial management

Education

• University Degree (NQF Level 7)
• Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) designation (non-negotiable)

Experience

• 10–15 years’ experience in a senior finance leadership role within a complex business environment
• Extensive executive-level leadership and people management experience
• Proven experience partnering with CEOs, boards, and senior executives
• Strong working knowledge of business and financial management principles

Skills

• Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office suite
• Strong financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting capability
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail
