Job summary

HotelJobs is seeking a Financial Controller to lead the finance systems for the restaurant network, reporting to the Operations Manager. You will drive forecasting, budgeting, and monthly owner/head office reports, while ensuring robust financial controls and accurate payable and debtor management.

The role requires strong knowledge of POS and PMS systems, Dineplan and AccPac or similar, plus payroll guidance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a relevant Diploma, Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• 7+ years as Financial Controller in restaurant or hotel environment.
• Strong business, auditing and commercial acumen.
• Experience with POS and PMS systems (Dineplan, AccPac or similar).
• Experience with Workmans compensation and management accounts.
• Problem solving, integrity, attention to detail.
• Knowledge of statutory requirements and tax legislation.
• Preparation of monthly management accounts, forecasts and Head Office reports.

Job description

A prominent restaraunt with multiple outlets is looking to employ a Financial Controller with the following attributes. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the position involves leadership of the Finance systems for the restaurant and the relevant outlets, the Financial Controller is expected to demonstrate excellent Financial controls including analytical and accounting skills which include : forecasting, budgeting, management of all accounts payable and debtors, monthly reports to Owners and Head Office. Knowledge of IT Systems and providing guidance to the payroll division will also form part of responsibilities.

• Minimum of a relevant Diploma, Bachelors Degree or similar professional qualification;
• Alternatively, appropriate levels of leadership as a Financial Controller with a minimum of 7 (seven) years related work experience in a Restaurant or Hotel environment
• Demonstrated business, auditing, and commercial acumen;
• Working knowledge of POS and PMS systems, Dineplan and AccPac or similar Accounting Packages
• Experience with Workmans compensation and management accounts
• Problem solving skills, Integrity, Attention to detail;
• Knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and tax legislation
• Preparation of monthly management accounts, forecasts and completion of Head Office Reports and returns;
