Job summary

Bright City Talent represents a premium distributor and retailer in the FMCG sector, offering an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned Financial Controller to join a high performing finance team.

The role centres on leading the monthly close, preparing management accounts with insightful commentary, and supporting budgeting. You will mentor the finance team and ensure accurate financial reporting in an in-office, full-time capacity.

Qualifications

• CA(SA) qualification is required.
• 5–10 years post-articles experience, preferably in logistics, retail, manufacturing, or FMCG sectors.
• Strong month-end closing and financial control abilities.
• Experience with balance sheets, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Ability to lead budgeting and management reporting processes.

Responsibilities

Our client, a permium distributor and retailer in the FMCG industry is offering an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned Financial Controller, to join their high performing, and growing Finance team.

Where You'll Make an Impact:

• Lead and oversee the monthly close process, ensuring all financial data is accurate and compliant
• Review and reconcile financial statements and balance sheets to maintain integrity and transparency
• Produce detailed management accounts and insightful commentary to guide business decisions
• Support the annual budgeting process, providing financial insights and forecasts
• Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team to foster growth and high performance

Requirements:

• CA(SA) qualification
• Between 5 and 10 years of post-articles experience, preferably in logistics, retail, manufacturing, or FMCG sectors
• Demonstrated strong month-end closing and financial control skills
• Extensive experience with balance sheets, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Proven ability to manage budgeting and management reporting processes
• Leadership qualities with experience managing and developing a finance team

Nice to Have:

• Experience in a fast-paced, multi-industry environment
