Job summary

Network Recruitment is seeking a Financial Controller to ensure financial accuracy, IFRS compliance, and robust reporting across a diverse investment portfolio. You will lead planning, analysis, and coordination with external auditors, while supporting portfolio decision-making and strategic planning at group level.

You will oversee cash flow, financial controls, and reporting to senior leadership, collaborating with investee entities and external advisors to drive value and compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Qualified CA(SA) or CIMA preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within investment, asset management, or holding company environments.
• Strong technical knowledge of IFRS and consolidated reporting.
• Advanced Excel and ERP experience (SAP/Sage).

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, implementing, and reporting on financial transactions across all group entities.
• Compile and review monthly internal reports.
• Compile internal and external reports arising from financial activities.
• Compile and review annual financial statements and coordinate audit processes.
• Oversee financial controls and outsourced accounting functions.
• Maintain financial processes, procedures, and controls across the group.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, legislative requirements, and internal policies.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls across all entities.
• Manage short‑term cash flow planning and oversee banking transactions.
• Supervise and support the bookkeeper to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant processing.
• Consult with external advisors on accounting matters.
• Maintain adequate insurance coverage for major assets.
• Prepare financial models, ROI analyses, and scenario planning to support investment evaluations.
• Assist in monitoring portfolio performance and preparing investor reports.
• Contribute to budgeting and strategic planning processes.
• Provide data‑driven insights to senior leadership.
• Liaise with auditors and investment partners to support smooth year‑end processes.
