Job summary

The Talent Experts seeks a commercially driven finance professional to join our renewable energy-focused team in Stellenbosch. You’ll work across project finance, treasury and investment analysis to build financial models, assess returns and support funding decisions.

You will engage with senior and technical stakeholders, contributing to portfolio optimisation and framework improvements while gaining exposure to solar PV and battery projects from analysis through funding and execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accounting or equivalent.
• CA/CIMA/CFA credentials or progress towards them are preferred.

Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing (and why you’ll enjoy it)

Working across project finance, treasury and investment analysis, you’ll build financial models, assess project returns, support debt and equity funding, credit assessments, valuations and Investment Committee processes. You’ll contribute to portfolio optimisation, M&A analysis and renewable energy transactions, while helping improve frameworks and processes. You’ll enjoy this because the exposure is unusually broad, with opportunities to help rebuild a group valuation model, develop credit-rating frameworks and support solar PV and battery projects from analysis through funding and execution.

Where you’ll be doing it

You’ll join a growing, multi-entity renewable energy organisation operating across SA within a technically driven and project-focused industry. The team is young, energetic and highly dedicated, with a strong work ethic balanced by a social and collaborative culture. Their offices are based in Stellenbosch. There is currently 2 days work from home.

What you’ll need

Bring a relevant Bachelor’s degree, ideally supported by CA, CIMA or CFA credentials or progress towards them. Around 4 to 6 years’ overall working experience is preferred, including 1 to 2+ years within financial analysis, project finance, banking, corporate finance, advisory or technical accounting. Strong Excel and financial modelling skills, critical thinking, attention to detail and financial literacy are essential.
