About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Renewable Energy Analyst to join their dynamic, fully remote team. This role is pivotal in driving the strategic growth of our renewable energy initiatives. You will be instrumental in evaluating market trends, forecasting energy production, and developing sophisticated financial models to support investment decisions in solar, wind, and other sustainable energy sources. This position offers a unique opportunity to work from anywhere within South Africa , collaborating with a distributed team of experts dedicated to advancing the clean energy transition.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth market research and analysis on renewable energy technologies and policies across various regions.
• Develop and maintain complex financial models for project feasibility, valuation, and investment returns for solar and wind energy projects.
• Perform energy production forecasting using statistical methods and specialized software.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders, clearly articulating findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate remotely with project development, engineering, and finance teams to ensure alignment on strategic objectives and financial viability of projects.
• Stay abreast of regulatory changes, technological advancements, and competitive landscape in the renewable energy sector .

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• A Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in energy market analysis, financial modeling, or project finance, with a focus on renewable energy .
• Proficiency in financial modeling software (e.g., Excel, specialized energy modeling tools) and data analysis techniques.
• Strong understanding of energy markets, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and project finance structures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to work independently and effectively in a fully remote , collaborative environment.
