Job summary

Luxury Lodge Group, based in Cape Town, is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join the head office team. You will oversee day-to-day accounting, ensure accurate financial records, and support financial reporting for a leading luxury lodge portfolio.

You will mentor junior staff, participate in budgeting and forecasting, and contribute to audits. Proficiency in Excel is essential, with Xero experience a plus, and hospitality experience is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant financial accounting experience.
• Experience mentoring/supervising a finance team is essential.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
• Excellent reconciliation and financial reporting skills.
• Proficiency in Excel; Xero experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial functions.
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and schedules.
• Assist with month-end and year-end procedures.
• Prepare financial reports and management accounts.
• Perform reconciliations of bank, balance sheet and GL.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Review transactions for accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Monitor financial performance and investigate variances.
• Ensure timely processing of financial information.
• Assist with audit preparation and provide documentation.
• Maintain strong financial controls and compliance.
