Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join the East London finance team. The role focuses on accurate financial reporting, IFRS-compliant statements, and robust internal controls within a corporate environment.

The ideal candidate has a CA(SA), ACCA, or CIMA, 5+ years of progressive financial accounting experience, and strong Excel skills. You will support audits and collaborate across departments in a structured office setting in the Eastern Cape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional qualification such as CA(SA), ACCA, or CIMA is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial accounting roles, preferably within a corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Proven experience with general ledger accounting, financial statement preparation, and month-end close.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and meet tight deadlines in an office-based setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and finalization of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
