Job summary

Abantu Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Accountant in the Eastern Cape to join our manufacturing client. The role requires a B.Com or B.Tech in Financial Accounting or Internal Auditing and at least 5 years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.

You will prepare journals, VAT returns, inter-company reconciliations, and financial reporting using Hyperion/SMART, with strong Excel and communication skills. Valid driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• B.Com Degree or B.Tech in Financial Accounting/ Internal Auditing.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Accountant.
• Previous manufacturing experience is essential.
• Advantageous: JDE experience (ERP system); CIMA qualification; Experience with Hyperion (ORACLE)/ SMART or similar financial reporting systems.
• Strong MS Excel and IT skills.
• Good communication skills and strong attention to detail.
• Valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journals for monthly management accounts
• Prepare and reconcile VAT returns
• Reconcile inter-company balances
• Prepare fixed cost and transport analysis
• Prepare tax packs and financial reporting information
• Reconcile ledger accounts
• Assist with annual budgets and quarterly forecasts
• Upload financial information onto Hyperion/ SMART
• Complete relevant Stats SA manufacturing reporting
• Provide financial analysis and support to management
