Job summary

Truworths in Cape Town seeks an adetail oriented finance professional to manage bank reconciliations and related processes. You will ensure timely resolution of discrepancies and maintain robust documentation while collaborating with the Finance Banking Manager and external stakeholders.

Ideal candidates have Matric with solid experience, strong Excel/Oracle Financials, and the ability to prioritise under deadlines in a retail finance environment.

Qualifications

• Matric plus solid work experience.
• Post-matric qualifications would be advantageous.
• Experience in a finance retail environment advantageous.
• Experience in general finance processes including bank reconciliations, foreign currency translation and conversion, bank card queries and resolving bank discrepancies.
• Very strong computer skills: Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word), Oracle Financials, Business Online, new Business Online (Africa) and an appropriate bank reconciliation system.

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Finance Banking Manager, reconcile all company bank and GL accounts within the stipulated time period and report/disclose discrepancies.
• Ensure policies, procedures and timelines are followed when collecting documentation from stores for queries and discrepancies.
• Incorporate new business developments into the daily reconciliation process (new stores, new bank accounts, acquisitions, new tender types).
• Liaise with local and foreign banks regarding charges and cash banking queries.
• Ensure all queries are resolved within permitted timeframes and KPIs are achieved.
• Assist the banking team with stand-in support when others are unavailable and liaise with internal/external audit as required.
