Job summary

Truworths in Cape Town is seeking an experienced finance professional to oversee banking operations and treasury functions. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will manage bank reconciliations, currency translations, and relationships with local and foreign banks, while leading a small team.

You will ensure month-end processes are completed on time, maintain policy compliance, and support audits and funding obligations.

Qualifications

• B.Comm or equivalent qualification.
• Experience in banking/treasury management.
• Experience in a finance retail environment.
• Experience in bank reconciliations, foreign currency translation and conversion, and bank queries.
• Management or supervisory experience.
• Strong computer skills: Excel, Outlook, Word; Oracle Financials; Business Online Africa.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile all company bank and GL accounts and report discrepancies.
• Ensure policies and procedures are followed by the banking team.
• Propose banking & treasury policy amendments.
• Incorporate new business developments into the daily reconciliation process.
• Liaise with IT Finance to ensure system effectiveness.
• Routinely liaise with local and foreign banks on treasury matters.
• Resolve queries within set timeframes.
• Meet Banking and Treasury KPIs.
• Provide succession and stand-in support.
• Coordinate with external/internal audit as required.
• Prepare daily cash flow forecasting and fund management actions.
• Ensure banking agreements are current and signed by management.
• Manage funding monthly requirements and accurate accounting of repayments.
