Job summary

Edge Executive Search Group is seeking a Finance Manager in Johannesburg to lead a developmental finance function. You will oversee payroll, reporting, budgeting and cash management, while ensuring compliance with PFMA, IFRS and GRAP.

Qualifications

• BCom degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Honours in Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible financial management experience.
• Proven experience managing finance staff.
• Strong experience preparing monthly management reports and annual financial statements.
• Experience managing internal and external audits.
• Thorough working knowledge of GRAP and IFRS.
• Practical understanding of PFMA and National Treasury regulations.
• IFRS 9 experience.
• Experience budgeting, financial reporting and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including payroll and invoicing.
• Manage and develop finance department staff and ensure quality of work.
• Oversee external financial services such as tax, audit, banking and investments.
• Monitor financial performance and identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
• Provide accurate financial information to support management decisions.
• Lead budgeting and support MTEF/ENE processes.
• Establish, maintain and review finance policies, procedures and controls.
• Review general ledger and ensure reconciliations are signed off before finalising management accounts.
• Ensure timely and accurate creditor payments.
• Monitor IFRS, GRAP and regulatory requirements and update policies accordingly.
• Coordinate annual planning and year-end audit activities.
• Drive timely completion of year-end audit within timelines and budget.
• Support achievement of an unmodified audit outcome with minimal findings.
