Job summary

Brolink is seeking a Finance Manager to join the Finance Department in Centurion. The role leads Finance Operations teams covering claims, collections, revenue and debtors, and reports on insurer GWP, commissions and binder revenue.

Applicants should be Chartered Accountants with at least 5 years of financial management experience, strong leadership, budgeting, reporting and IFRS knowledge. Audit liaison and stakeholder management are key components of the role.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant with articles completed.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial management or a similar role.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• Proven ability to manage budgeting, forecasting and reporting cycles.
• Experience with IFRS and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity exists for a Finance Manager to join the Finance Department. This position is based in Centurion.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Finance Operations teams which include Claims, Premium Collections, Revenue and Debtors
• Manage and report on the overall company financial results for insurer GWP, commissions and our binder revenue
• Responsible for revenue budget and reporting
• Stakeholder management which includes external and internal audit, insurers, brokers, other business areas in the company
• Review of all internal and external reporting.
• Maintain and improve policies and processes, ensuring best practice solutions are implemented in the Finance Operations team where appropriate and when required.
• Own and run the automation and digitisation projects in the Finance Operations team
• Engage in relevant negotiations with internal and external stakeholders (legal, suppliers, insurers, and customers) as required.
• Engage with Group Accountants and provide relevant information when required
• To oversee and manage personal development, performance management and succession planning of self, team members and direct reports to ensure optimal and efficient utilisation of people’s resources, talent management and retention of key resources.
• Promote and develop the culture of performance resulting in growth and effectiveness
• Management of annual audit and assisting with audit queries from internal and external auditors.
• Quarterly prepare and compile finance board packs submissions for Board meetings
• Assist with queries from internal and external customers
• Keeping abreast with accounting principles
• To contribute to the budget processes and variance analysis and reporting
• Timely review of monthly reporting received internally and externally.
• Analysis of key financial metrics to support management in making operational decisions
• Assistance with research and resolution of relevant technical accounting issues which arise from time to time including the investigation and implementation of any new IFRS standards
• Involvement in bid submission and tender processes
• Management of debtor’s function

• High-level knowledge in all areas of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles
• Excellent report writing skills
• Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems and financial regulations
• Ability to analyse and interpret financial data and prepare financial reports, statement and projections
• Strong leader who can lead and motivate a team
• Being able to see the bigger picture
• Knowledge and understanding of the short-term insurance industry and its principles (preferred)
• Computer literacy with appropriate knowledge of MS Office software (Specifically MS Excel and MS Word)
