Job summary

CA Financial Appointments is seeking a Financial Manager for a well-established hotel group with a Cape Town base. You will lead the finance function, reporting to the CEO and shareholders, and shape both operational and strategic directions across a growing hospitality portfolio.

Ideal candidates bring hospitality finance experience, a professional qualification (CA(SA)/CIMA/CGMA/AGA), strong leadership and a commercial mindset to partner with operational teams and drive performance.

Qualifications

• Previous finance experience within the hospitality industry (essential).
• Solid understanding of hotel operations and hospitality revenue streams.
• Professional finance qualification such as CA(SA), CIMA/CGMA, AGA(SA) or similar.
• Experience managing finance across multiple entities.
• Strong knowledge of South African tax compliance and financial reporting.
• Commercial mindset with the ability to partner with operational stakeholders.
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Afrikaans language skills will be advantageous.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to properties as required.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end close, consolidations and financial reporting across multiple entities.
• Prepare management reports and present property-level performance and variances to senior leadership.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning.
• Manage cash flow, banking, EFT authorisations and rolling cash flow forecasts.
• Oversee hotel revenue controls, daily cash-ups, debtors, banking and stock management.
• Managing statutory compliance, including VAT, PAYE, income tax and payroll.
• Prepare annual financial statements and coordinate the external audit.
• Partner with shareholders on strategic initiatives, including hotel developments, acquisitions, feasibility studies, valuations and funding opportunities.
• Lead, mentoring and developing the finance team.
• Travelling to properties from time to time to support finance operations and internal controls.

Are you a commercially minded finance professional with hospitality experience looking for an opportunity to influence strategy and drive business growth?

Our client, a well-established hotel group with a portfolio of more than a dozen properties across South Africa, is looking to appoint a Financial Manager to lead the finance function from their Cape Town head office. Reporting directly to the CEO and shareholders, this is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in both the operational and strategic direction of a growing hospitality business.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the overall financial management of the group, including:

• Managing the month-end close, consolidations and financial reporting across multiple entities.
