Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in finance or accounting roles; proven financial reporting experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in bringing projects to Financial Close and ensure accurate construction reporting.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts from general ledger through to reporting.
  • Manage project bank accounts and funding requirements from lenders and shareholders.
  • Manage loan facilities and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Forecast cash flow and revise project budgets; analyze variances.
  • Coordinate annual audit and preparation of Annual Financial Statements per IFRS.

Job description

The Finance Manager will focus on the projects in construction, managing the projects from Financial Close to COD. This role will be responsible for the monthly management reporting during construction and will ensure the projects are built on time and within budget. This role will manage the lender requirements under the relevant agreements as well as the reporting obligations under the Construction Management Agreements for the projects during construction.

Core responsibilities:
  • Assist in bringing projects to Financial Close and ensure the systems and processes are in place for accurate construction reporting.
  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts – general ledger reconciliations through to reporting, including analytical review and commentary.
  • Managing project bank accounts and funding requirements from the lenders and shareholders.
  • Managing loan facilities in line with the agreements and reporting to relevant stakeholders.
  • Cash flow forecasting and reporting, including revising the project budget. Monitor variances and provide analysis with actionable insights.
  • Coordinate annual audit, preparation of Annual Financial Statements in line with IFRS, and other annual reporting, as required.
  • Maintain internal controls and financial policies
  • Responsible for ensuring statutory compliance, including Income Tax, VAT, CIPC, etc.
  • Work closely with the Senior Contracts Manager and Programme Manager to ensure accurate reporting on projects.
  • Understanding the accounting aspects of the agreements which are in place and what the respective reporting requirements are.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting.
  • Collaband work with other team members to ensure that the finance function is well integrated in the various areas of the business.
Key requirements:
Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
  • Professional qualification (CA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in finance or accounting roles
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
