Job summary

Macmillan Education in Johannesburg invites a recent graduate to join the Finance team as a Finance Graduate Intern. You will gain hands-on experience across daily financial processes, reporting, reconciliations and administrative activities, while working with experienced colleagues to build core finance skills.

The role offers exposure to accounts payable/receivable, financial controls and ad hoc projects.

Qualifications

• Recently completed or near-completed degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management or related field.
• Interest in developing a career in Finance.
• Basic understanding of accounting and financial principles.
• Good numerical and analytical skills, with ability to work accurately with financial information.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Finance team with day-to-day financial and administrative activities.

• Assist with the preparation of financial reports, schedules and supporting documentation.
• Capture and maintain accurate financial information in relevant systems.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues across Finance and other areas of the business to resolve queries and obtain information.
• Follow established financial processes, controls and procedures while developing an understanding of why they are important.
• Support ad hoc finance projects and activities that provide opportunities to learn and develop.

About The Role

We are looking for a Finance Graduate Intern to join our Finance team at Macmillan Education. This is an opportunity for a recent graduate to gain practical experience across a range of finance activities while developing the technical and professional skills needed to build a career in finance. You will work alongside experienced finance colleagues and gain exposure to day-to-day financial processes, reporting, reconciliations and administrative activities. The role will provide you with an opportunity to learn, ask questions, take on responsibility and develop your understanding of how a finance function supports a business.
