Job summary

Sporty Group is seeking a Finance Controller / Internal Auditor to strengthen financial processes and controls across a fast-growing international group.

Reporting to the Global Finance Director, you will design, implement and monitor controls covering payments, banking, reconciliations, accounting, record keeping, procurement and reporting. This hands-on role involves working with Finance teams across countries and entities, including international travel.

Qualifications

• Qualified CA (SA) with 3–5 years post-qualification experience.
• Strong experience in financial control, audit, accounting or similar finance role.
• Experience designing and implementing financial controls and processes.
• Comfortable working across multiple legal entities and countries.
• Ability to identify weaknesses and drive remediation.

Responsibilities

• Review existing financial processes and controls across the group, identifying weaknesses and opportunities.
• Design, document and implement practical financial controls across payments, banking, reconciliations and reporting.
• Establish segregation of duties, approval processes, and access controls.
• Perform ongoing internal reviews to confirm controls operate effectively.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and key accounting processes for accuracy.
• Collaborate with Finance teams to resolve deficiencies and improve processes.
• Develop policies and control documentation to be applied across the group.
• Support system implementations and new banking arrangements with built-in controls.
• Use technology and automation to strengthen controls.
• Track issues and actions through to resolution.
• Support external audits and regulatory reviews.
• Provide reporting to Global Finance Director on material risks and remediation progress.
