Placements24 is seeking a Field Telecoms Installer to support the Soweto area and surrounding communities. The role involves hands-on installation and setup of telecommunications equipment for homes and businesses, with emphasis on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in telecom installation, is comfortable working independently, and can read technical diagrams. A valid driver’s license and good physical condition are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in telecommunications installation or related field (electronics, cabling).
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
• Basic understanding of telecoms systems (broadband, Wi-Fi, home networking).
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and installation manuals.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure telecoms equipment (modems, routers, Wi-Fi, cabling) for residential and business clients.
• Perform structured cabling installations for voice and data networks.
• Test installed equipment and network connections for full functionality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic installation issues on-site.
• Educate customers on use of new equipment and services.
• Adhere to safety protocols and company procedures during on-site activities.
