Job summary

Placements24 invites applications for a Telecommunications Technician to support our George-area network operations. You will install, configure, and troubleshoot fiber, DSL, and wireless systems for residential and commercial clients, ensuring reliable service delivery.

You will diagnose technical issues, perform routine maintenance, conduct site surveys, and maintain records. The role combines hands-on field work with strong customer service and teamwork in a dynamic Western Cape setting.

Qualifications

Must have a National Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
Proven experience as a Telecommunications Technician or similar role.
Strong understanding of signal transmission, network topology and cabling standards.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and troubleshoot telecom systems including fiber, DSL, and wireless tech.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on network infrastructure and customer premises equipment.
Respond to service calls and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
Conduct site surveys and assess installation requirements for new services.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment status, and inventory.
