Placements24 is seeking a hands-on Telecommunications Equipment Installer to join our field operations in Port Elizabeth. You will install, configure, and test mobile network and fixed-line telecom equipment onsite for clients, ensuring compliance with technical specs and quality standards.

The role demands practical technical aptitude, physical stamina, and the ability to work in diverse locations around Port Elizabeth, with on-the-job training and company-provided tools and vehicle.

Qualifications

• Proven experience installing telecommunications equipment.
• Familiarity with fiber optic cabling, RF principles, and network infrastructure.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and installation manuals.
• Basic understanding of electrical wiring and safety procedures.
• Good physical condition and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure telecommunications hardware, such as base stations, antennas, and customer premises equipment.
• Perform site surveys and prepare installation sites according to project requirements.
• Test installed equipment to verify functionality, signal strength, and compliance with specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any installation-related issues or defects.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, site conditions, and equipment used.
