Job summary

Caterpillar, Inc. is seeking a Machine Technical Service Representative to support our Construction Equipment customers and dealer network in Africa.

You will be onsite at customer and dealer facilities, reviewing needs and providing technical on-site guidance to optimize machine performance. The role requires hands-on engagement with Caterpillar machines, strong decision-making, and a focus on delivering superb customer experiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of engineering, technical support, or product support experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, practical messages.
• Ability to collaborate across diverse teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Represent Caterpillar at customer and dealer sites to understand needs and application performance.
• Travel throughout Africa to provide technical consultation and support on product performance.
• Make sound decisions to ensure superb customer and dealer experience.
• Determine appropriate levels of support for customer experience and product performance.
• Support product sales and dealer effectiveness through technical input and solutions.
• Collaborate with Sales to develop total customer solutions and drive satisfaction.
• Coordinate with Service Specialists to meet Customer Satisfaction targets.
• Liaise with Product Support Managers and Engineers on enhancements and future developments.
• Educate/train dealers on Caterpillar product technical specifications.
• Stay updated on industry trends and technologies relevant to Caterpillar and customers.
