Job summary

AGCO's Massey Ferguson Africa is seeking a Field Technical Manager in Johannesburg to lead field service and technical support for Massey Ferguson products across South Africa and Africa. You will coordinate field campaigns, provide training, and support distributors and end users with technical expertise.

The role requires 3–5 years post-qualification experience with agricultural equipment, a relevant qualification (HND), and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years post-qualification experience with agricultural equipment.
• Experience with combines, balers, hay equipment, planters and tractors.
• HND or equivalent in agriculture or machinery, with a qualified trade test.
• Fluent in English; Afrikaans would be an advantage.
• Strong computer literacy and administrative skills.
• Willingness to travel within Africa and to other AGCO locations.
• Valid, clean driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide field service support for Massey Ferguson products across South Africa and Africa.
• Deliver technical support to distributors, dealers, and end users via reporting systems, telephone support, and field visits.
• Investigate, quantify, and follow up on field service and warranty issues with Level 2, engineering, and source plant teams.
• Coordinate field campaigns and repair programmes, ensuring targets are met and information is managed in the warranty system.
• Develop and deliver technical training, service bulletins, and product information to support dealer capability.
• Attend regional training sessions, Africa events, and factory engagements to boost product knowledge and service.
• Present and follow up on key product issues at Africa service review meetings and support field events.
• Conduct dealer service audits and technical skills assessments to strengthen service standards.
