Job summary

AGCO South Africa is seeking a Field Technical Manager in Johannesburg to lead field service and technical support for Massey Ferguson products across South Africa. You will collaborate with distributors, dealers and end users to ensure expert service delivery.

Required are 3-5 years post-qualification experience in agricultural equipment, an HND or equivalent in agriculture or machinery, and a trade test. Fluent English is essential; Afrikaans is a plus, and travel within Africa is expected.

• Experience with combines, balers, hay equipment, planters and tractors.

Responsibilities

• Act as Level 1 product champion and field service support across SA.
• Deliver technical support to distributors, dealers and end users via reporting systems, phone and field visits.
• Investigate, quantify and follow up on field service and warranty issues with Level 2 and engineering teams.
• Coordinate field campaigns and repair programmes ensuring targets are met and documented.
• Develop and deliver technical training, service bulletins and product information for dealer capability.
• Attend regional trainings and Africa events to support knowledge and improvement.
• Present on key product issues at Africa service meetings and support field events.

We are currently seeking a Field Technical Manager to join our Johannesburg team. In this role, you will provide field service and technical support for designated Massey Ferguson products across the South African market, supporting distributors, dealers, and end users.

Your Impact

• Act as the Level 1 product champion and provide field service support for designated products across South Africa and, when required, other African markets.
• Deliver technical support to distributors, dealers, and end users through AGCO reporting systems, telephone support, and field visits.
• Investigate, quantify, and follow up on field service and warranty issues, coordinating with Level 2 support, engineering, and source plant teams to ensure resolution.
• Coordinate field campaigns and repair programmes, ensuring completion targets are achieved and information is accurately managed through the warranty system.
• Develop and deliver technical training, documentation, service bulletins, and product information to support dealer capability and AGCO Africa requirements.
• Attend regional training sessions, service meetings, Africa events, and source factory engagements to support continuous product knowledge and service improvement.
• Present and follow up on key product issues at Africa service review meetings and provide technical support for field events, demonstrations, and product matching activities.
• Conduct dealer service audits and technical skills assessments to strengthen service standards and dealer performance.

Your Experience and Qualifications

• 3-5 years' post-qualification experience working directly with agricultural equipment or in a related industry.
• Experience working with combines, balers, hay equipment, planters, and tractors.
• HND or equivalent qualification in agriculture or machinery, together with a qualified trade test.
• Fluent in English; and Afrikaans would be an advantage.
• Strong computer literacy and administrative skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel within Africa and to other AGCO locations, as required.
