Job summary

Lesaka Technologies in the Western Cape is seeking a Field Service Technician to deliver onsite technical support, hardware installations, maintenance, and customer assistance across franchise and independent sites. The role requires hands-on problem solving, strong customer focus, and willingness to travel extensively within the region; you will report to the Field Services Manager.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric) and a valid SA driver’s licence.
• Your own reliable vehicle and willingness to travel extensively within the region.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in field service, tech support or installation.
• Experience installing and supporting POS systems, payment devices, printers, scanners, tablets, mobile devices and network infrastructure.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to work after hours, weekends, and travel when required.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite technical support for hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Install, configure, and commission POS hardware, payment devices, printers, scanners, tablets and networking equipment.
• Deliver professional customer service during onsite visits and provide end-user training.
• Assist with national and regional rollout projects and store openings.
• Maintain accountability for assets and stock, including hardware.
• Ensure installation standards, safety and QA compliance.
• Prepare accurate service documentation and update support systems.
• Participate in standby and after-hours support as needed.
