Job summary

General Heavy Machinery is seeking an experienced Truck Site Technician to perform on-site maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on heavy‑duty trucks across the Western Cape. The role requires a minimum of 5 years’ field service experience, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to travel extensively.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and customer service skills, a Code 10 or Code 14 licence (advantageous), and reside in Capetown.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience working on heavy-duty trucks.
• Valid driver's licence (Code 10 or Code 14 advantageous).
• Currently residing in Capetown.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site diagnostics, servicing and repairs on heavy-duty trucks.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and breakdown support at customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Complete service reports and job cards accurately and on time.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and customer site requirements.
• Maintain company tools, equipment and service vehicle in a clean and serviceable condition.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through professional service delivery.
• Travel extensively within the Western Cape; occasional travel outside the province if required.
• Hold a valid driver's licence; Code 10 or Code 14 advantageous.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
