Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of field operations experience in Oil & Gas with 3+ years in supervision/management.
• Experience in upstream production operations including artificial lift, separation, and flow assurance.
• Strong knowledge of production optimization techniques and equipment.
• Excellent leadership, team management and decision-making skills.
• In-depth HSE knowledge and regulatory compliance in Oil & Gas.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Willing to relocate to Soweto, SA and eligible to work in SA.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily field production operations and ensure targets are met safely and efficiently.
• Lead, mentor and develop field operations teams (operators, technicians, supervisors).

About the Role

Our client, a key operator in the Oil & Gas sector, is seeking a results-oriented and experienced Field Operations Manager to lead their operational activities in Soweto, Gauteng . This critical role involves overseeing all aspects of field production operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance. The manager will be responsible for optimizing production, managing field personnel, and ensuring the integrity of production facilities and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of upstream operations, and a proven ability to manage complex field environments. Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all daily field production operations, ensuring targets are met safely and efficiently.
• Lead, mentor, and develop field operations teams, including production operators, technicians, and supervisors.
• Ensure strict adherence to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies.
• Monitor production performance, identify opportunities for optimization, and implement improvement initiatives.
• Manage the maintenance and integrity of production facilities, equipment, and infrastructure.
• Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effective execution of activities.
• Coordinate with other departments, including engineering, subsurface, and logistics, to ensure seamless operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in field operations within the Oil & Gas industry, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Proven experience in managing upstream production operations, including artificial lift, separation, and flow assurance.
• Strong understanding of production optimization techniques and equipment.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and decision-making skills.
• In-depth knowledge of HSE best practices and regulatory requirements in the Oil & Gas sector.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
• Must be legally authorized to work in South Africa and reside in or be willing to relocate to the Soweto area.
