Qualifications

You will be instrumental in ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency for our clients, working closely with site managers and operations teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, exceptional troubleshooting skills, and a proactive mindset towards identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact operations. This is a pivotal position for an experienced engineer looking to make a tangible impact within the Installation & Maintenance industry in the KwaZulu-Natal region.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive on-site inspections and performance analyses of industrial machinery and systems.
• Perform complex repairs and overhauls on mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to optimize equipment lifespan and reduce unexpected failures.
• Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify the root cause of malfunctions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to propose and implement system upgrades or modifications.
• Provide expert technical guidance and support to on-site personnel and junior technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a field engineering or maintenance role, preferably in Installation & Maintenance .
• In-depth knowledge of industrial machinery, control systems, and safety standards.
• Proven ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and schematics.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a strong emphasis on practical application.
• Willingness to travel and work on-site across various locations in and around Durban .
