Qualifications

• Recognised field guiding qualification.
• Previous guiding experience within a lodge, reserve or safari environment.
• Sound knowledge of South African wildlife, birdlife, ecology and bushveld ecosystems.
• Valid driver's license and professional driving permit.
• Valid First Aid certification.
• Confident conducting safe, informative and engaging game drives.
• Strong communication, storytelling and guest-interaction skills.
• Professional appearance and a friendly, approachable manner.
• Ability to communicate confidently in English.
• Comfortable working flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Willingness to assist with general lodge and safari operations.
• Reliable, safety-conscious and capable of working independently.
• Additional languages and relevant guiding certifications would be advantageous.

Introduction

Hospitality and Outdoor is searching for an enthusiastic Field Guide for a well-established safari lodge in the Roodeplaat area of Gauteng. This opportunity is ideal for a guide who is passionate about wildlife, guest interaction and creating memorable outdoor experiences.

The successful Field Guide will conduct informative game drives and guided nature experiences while sharing their knowledge of the surrounding ecosystem, wildlife and birdlife. The guide will also be expected to prioritise guest safety, maintain professional lodge standards and assist with general operational duties when required.

This position would suit a confident, approachable and service-driven individual who enjoys working with people and is comfortable operating in a guest-focused safari environment.
