Job summary

Hospitality and Outdoor in Roodeplaat, Gauteng, is seeking a Field Guide for a well-established safari lodge. You will lead informative game drives, share knowledge of wildlife and birdlife, and ensure guest safety while maintaining lodge standards.

The role suits a confident, service‑driven guide with a recognised field guiding qualification, English fluency, and a willingness to work weekends. Accommodation and meals are included, and additional benefits will be discussed at interview.

Qualifications

• Recognised field guiding qualification.
• Previous guiding experience within a lodge, reserve or safari environment.
• Sound knowledge of South African wildlife, birdlife, ecology and bushveld ecosystems.
• Valid driver's license and professional driving permit.
• Valid First Aid certification.
• Confident conducting safe, informative and engaging game drives.
• Strong communication, storytelling and guest-interaction skills.
• Professional appearance and a friendly, approachable manner.
• Ability to communicate confidently in English.
• Comfortable working flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Willingness to assist with general lodge and safari operations.
• Reliable, safety-conscious and capable of working independently.
• Additional languages and relevant guiding certifications would be advantageous.
