Job summary

Wild Dreams Hospitality on a Big Five reserve invites dedicated guiding couples to join a premier lodge. You will lead safe game drives, share insights on wildlife and conservation, and provide engaging guest experiences for an international audience.

Based in KwaZulu-Natal or willing to relocate, you will join an experienced guiding team, maintain vehicles, and enjoy live-in accommodation with meals. Competitive benefits include leave and medical aid contribution where applicable.

Qualifications

• NQF2 guides actively working towards their NQF4.
• Experience is an advantage, but fit and culture are prioritised.
• Based in, or willing to relocate to KwaZulu-Natal or Gauteng.
• Sound knowledge of Big Five game viewing and guest safety protocols.
• Warm, engaging guest interaction and strong storytelling ability.
• A collaborative team player who thrives within an established guiding team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct game drives for guests, with walking safaris planned later this year.
• Ensure guest safety at all times within a Big Five environment.
• Share knowledge of local flora, fauna and conservation with guests.
• Build rapport with a largely international and loyal guest base.
• Maintain guiding vehicles and equipment to a high standard.
• Work closely with an experienced team of guides.

Job description

This is a wonderful opportunity to join an experienced guiding team on a Big Five reserve that has held the number one TripAdvisor ranking for nine consecutive years; the lodge places as much value on the right personality and fit as it does on formal experience. Guiding couples will also be considered.

Core Criteria:

• NQF2 guides actively working towards their NQF4
• Experience is an advantage, not a requirement; a strong cultural and team fit matters most
• Based In, or willing to relocate to, KwaZulu-Natal or Gauteng
• Sound knowledge of Big Five game viewing and guest safety protocols
• Warm, engaging guest interaction and strong storytelling ability
• A collaborative team player who will thrive within an established guiding team

Core Responsibilities:

• Conduct game drives for guests, with walking safaris to follow later this year
• Ensure guest safety at all times within a Big Five environment
• Share knowledge of local flora, fauna and conservation with guests
• Build genuine rapport with a largely international and loyal, repeat guest base
• Maintain guiding vehicles and equipment to a high standard
• Work closely with a capable, experienced team of guides

On Offer:

• Salary: R8,5k depending on qualification and experience
• Live-in position; own en-suite room and all meals included
• 8.5 days off per month, plus 24 days annual leave
• Partial medical aid contribution available, where applicable
