Placements24 is seeking an experienced Farm Manager for a hybrid role in Gauteng to oversee day-to-day operations, crop and livestock planning, staff management, and resource allocation. The role emphasizes leadership, safety, sustainability, and regulatory compliance within a dynamic farming environment.

The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, implement innovative farming techniques, and contribute to profitability and growth of the client’s agricultural activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in farm management or a similar leadership role.
• Experience in crop production, soil management and pest control.
• Experience in livestock management is essential.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Proficiency with farm management software and basic accounting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual crop and livestock production plans.
• Supervise farm staff including hiring, training, and scheduling.
• Oversee planting, cultivation, harvesting and processing.
• Manage health and productivity of livestock with feeding programs.
• Monitor farm resources: water, energy, fertilizers, pesticides.
• Maintain equipment and arrange repairs as needed.
• Enforce safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Manage inventory and oversee sales and distribution channels.
• Analyze data to identify improvements and cost reductions.
• Promote collaboration, safety and continuous improvement.
