Placements24 seeks a hands-on Farm Operations Supervisor for a diversified farm near Soweto in Gauteng. You will oversee daily planting, cultivation, harvest and possibly livestock, coordinate farm activities and supervise a team of workers.

With 4+ years in farm operations and at least 2 in leadership, you will ensure safety, machinery maintenance, record-keeping and adherence to best practices, driving product quality and efficiency on the farm.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Agriculture or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 4 years in general farm operations, with at least 2 years in supervision.
• Hands-on crop management experience; livestock handling as applicable.
• Good understanding of farm machinery and basic maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of pest and disease control measures.

Requirements

• A relevant qualification in Agriculture or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in general farm operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
• Hands-on experience with a variety of farming tasks, including crop management and potentially livestock handling.
• Good understanding of agricultural machinery and basic maintenance.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate a team of farm workers.
• Basic understanding of health and safety procedures in an agricultural setting.
• Good communication skills in English or another relevant local language.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends when necessary, especially during peak seasons.
• A valid driver's license is essential for travel to and from the farm near Soweto .
