Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Farm Manager to oversee the production of organic produce in the Port Elizabeth area. This hands-on role manages all farm operations, from cultivation and harvesting to supervising staff and ensuring compliance with organic certification standards.

You will focus on maximizing crop yields and soil health, implementing organic farming techniques, and delivering premium produce to market while maintaining a sustainable farming system.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in farm management, with a significant focus on organic agriculture.
• Solid understanding of organic farming principles, soil management, and integrated pest management (IPM).
• Proven experience in managing farm labor and optimizing operational efficiency.
• Knowledge of crop rotation, cover cropping, and composting techniques for organic farming.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to make sound decisions in a dynamic agricultural environment.

• Oversee daily farm operations, including planting, irrigation, pest and disease management, and harvesting of organic crops.
• Manage and supervise a team of farm workers, ensuring efficient task allocation and adherence to safety protocols.
