About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned and proactive Farm Manager to oversee their extensive livestock operations near Pretoria . This role is essential for ensuring the health, welfare, and productivity of all animals on the farm, as well as managing the daily operational needs of the ranch. You will be responsible for implementing feeding programs, monitoring herd health, managing staff, and maintaining farm infrastructure. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an experienced livestock manager to contribute to a leading agricultural enterprise in the Gauteng province.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of daily livestock operations, including feeding, breeding, and health monitoring for cattle, sheep, or other specified animals.
• Develop and implement effective animal husbandry practices and disease prevention programs.
• Supervise and train farmhands and livestock caretakers, ensuring adherence to safety and welfare standards.
• Maintain farm records related to herd size, health, births, deaths, and production yields.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of farm buildings, fences, and equipment relevant to livestock management.
• Manage grazing pastures and ensure sustainable land use practices.

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of hands‑on experience in livestock management , preferably with large herds.
• Strong understanding of animal nutrition, veterinary care, and breeding cycles.
• Proven ability to manage staff effectively and foster a positive work environment.
