Placements24 is seeking an experienced Farm Manager to oversee extensive livestock operations in Tembisa. You will ensure the health and productivity of livestock, manage farm staff, and optimize operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Animal Science, Agriculture, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in livestock farm management.
• Knowledge of cattle, sheep, or other relevant livestock management practices.
• Experience in staff supervision and team leadership.
• Strong understanding of farm equipment operation and maintenance.
• Excellent record-keeping and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the livestock farm, including feeding, watering, and health monitoring.
• Manage and supervise farm staff, ensuring efficient task allocation and performance.
• Implement and maintain herd health programs, vaccinations and disease prevention protocols.
• Manage grazing rotations and pasture management to ensure optimal land utilization.
• Maintain farm equipment and infrastructure, ensuring they are in good working order.
• Monitor inventory of feed, supplies, and livestock, and manage procurement as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all animal welfare, environmental, and safety regulations.
