Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Farm Manager to oversee extensive livestock operations in the Cape Town region. You will lead a team of farmhands, manage health protocols, feeding regimens, and breeding programs to optimize profitability and animal welfare.

The ideal candidate has proven experience in senior livestock management, strong knowledge of cattle and sheep, and proficiency with farm management software.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Farm Manager or in a similar senior livestock management role.
• Strong knowledge of cattle, sheep, or other relevant livestock breeds and their specific needs.
• Demonstrated ability in animal husbandry, including health, nutrition, and reproduction.
• Experience in managing farm staff and resources effectively.
• Proficiency in farm management software and record-keeping.
• A relevant qualification in Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related field is preferred.

• Manage all aspects of livestock health, including vaccination programs, disease prevention, and treatment protocols.
• Oversee breeding programs to optimize genetic improvement and reproductive efficiency.
• Supervise daily feeding, watering, and general care of all livestock.
