The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, record-keeping of livestock inventory and performance, and collaboration with farm management to optimise herd and flock output.

Qualifications

• Proven experience (3+ years) in livestock management.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate a small team.
• Solid understanding of animal husbandry, nutrition, and common livestock diseases.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily feeding, watering, and health checks for cattle and sheep.
• Implement and monitor breeding programs to optimize herd/flock reproductive rates.
• Administer basic veterinary care, vaccinations, and deworming treatments as directed.
• Maintain accurate records of animal inventory, health, and production.
• Manage and train farmhands involved in livestock care, ensuring adherence to protocols.
• Oversee the maintenance of livestock housing, pastures, and related equipment.
