Placements24 is seeking a proactive Facilities Maintenance and Cleaning Supervisor to oversee the upkeep and cleanliness of our client’s facilities in Mahikeng (LegKraal Gate area). The role blends hands-on maintenance with team leadership to ensure that building systems function optimally and hygiene standards are met.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and organized Facilities Maintenance and Cleaning Supervisor to oversee the upkeep and cleanliness of their facilities in Mahikeng . This role requires a blend of hands-on skills and supervisory capabilities to ensure that all building systems are functional and that the premises are maintained to the highest standards of hygiene. You will lead a team of maintenance and cleaning staff, manage work schedules, conduct inspections, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver, detail-oriented, and possesses strong leadership qualities to maintain a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for all building occupants.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of maintenance and cleaning staff, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
• Oversee the execution of routine and preventative maintenance for building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
• Ensure that all cleaning schedules are met and that premises are maintained to high standards of hygiene and presentation.
• Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to identify and address maintenance issues, safety hazards, and cleanliness deficiencies.
• Manage inventory of maintenance supplies and cleaning chemicals, ensuring adequate stock and proper storage.
• Enforce health and safety regulations, ensuring that all staff adhere to safety protocols and use appropriate PPE.

Requirements

• Proven experience in facilities maintenance and/or cleaning supervision.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and cleaning protocols.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance and cleaning issues effectively.
• Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations in a facilities context.
• Experience with staff scheduling and performance management.
