Job summary

Armstrong Appointments seeks an Electrical Intern to support the Group Facilities Management team with electrical, mechanical (HVAC), and electronic maintenance, inspections, and project tasks, providing hands-on experience in building systems and compliance.

The role covers routine inspections, preventative maintenance, documentation, and collaboration with technicians and external contractors on infrastructure projects, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
• National Diploma/Degree in Electrical/Mechanical (HVAC) Engineering or related qualification.
• Basic understanding of electrical/mechanical & electronic systems.
• Previous internship, practical training, or coursework in electrical/mechanical (HVAC) work (advantageous).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintenance of facilities infrastructure to keep systems functioning.
• Conduct routine inspections and testing of facilities equipment.
• Support preventative maintenance activities with safety compliance.
• Assist in installation, repair, and troubleshooting of infrastructure components.
• Document maintenance activities and report on system performance.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and compliance regulations.
• Collaborate with Facilities team and external contractors on projects.
• Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
