Job summary

Huntswood Group invites an experienced maintenance assistant to oversee daily building checks and general maintenance for our Durban offices. You will monitor UPS, HVAC, generator, perform minor repairs, and handle plumbing, electrical tasks, and tool use to keep facilities running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have 18 months facilities experience in a contact center or similar, solid English communication, and the ability to work overtime when required.

Qualifications

• 18 months experience working within facilities within a contact center.
• Matric or NQF4 is essential.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in an admin function and general office duties.
• Good written and verbal communication.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Proven maintenance or similar role experience.
• Knowledge of building systems (electrical/plumbing).
• Knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.
• Physically fit and able to commute.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily building checks and general maintenance of Durban offices.
• Assist with monitoring UPS, HVAC system and generator.
• Complete minor repair work and door hardware repairs.
• Replace light bulbs and electrical fixtures; basic plumbing tasks.
• Operate power tools and maintain toolbox; prepare workspaces.
• Install appliances or mounting tasks as needed.
• Set up/break down advisor/training desks as required.
• Maintain good health and safety practices on site.
