Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in Midrand is seeking a Façade Engineer to lead design, engineering, and construction support for building envelope systems.

You will translate architectural intent into buildable façade solutions while coordinating with architects, structural and MEP engineers. The role requires a Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering background, experience with façade materials, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience on commercial, industrial, or mixed-use building projects.
• Knowledge of façade materials such as glass, aluminium, steel, and composites.
• Understanding of building physics (thermal, moisture, acoustic performance).
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM and structural analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop façade concepts aligned with architectural intent and project requirements.
• Perform structural analysis of façade systems including wind loads and seismic effects.
• Evaluate façade performance across thermal, acoustic, fire, and weatherproofing requirements.
• Coordinate façade design with architects, structural, and MEP engineers.
• Prepare detailed drawings, calculations, and technical specifications.
• Support tender processes, including reviewing contractor submissions.
• Provide construction support with site inspections and resolving technical issues.
