Job summary

Cls in Pretoria is seeking an experienced Intermediate Data Engineer to manage and develop an established Microsoft Fabric data platform. The role covers data ingestion, transformation, modelling, warehousing and BI integration, with hands-on responsibilities and cross-functional collaboration.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in data engineering, strong Fabric experience, SQL Server/T-SQL, Python or PySpark, and a track record of delivering production ETL/ELT pipelines and BI support.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in a related field.
• Bachelor's degree and relevant Microsoft Fabric/Azure certifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the Fabric data environment and deliver reliable data pipelines.
• Design, develop, maintain and orchestrate batch and near real-time data ingestion.
• Develop robust data transformation logic using SQL, Python/PySpark and Fabric notebooks.
• Implement incremental loading, logging, monitoring and alerting for data integrity.
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures and optimize performance, capacity and cost.
