Job summary

Praesignis (Pty) Ltd in South Africa is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to design, build and optimise data solutions using Microsoft Fabric. You will develop ingest, transformation and integration pipelines and work with OneLake, Lakehouse and Fabric Warehouse to deliver reliable data workloads.

The role requires strong SQL and Power BI skills, experience with Fabric Data Pipelines and Dataflows Gen2, and the ability to translate business needs into scalable data models.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in Data Engineering, BI, Data Analytics or related field.
• Strong hands-on Microsoft Fabric experience.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Experience with OneLake, Lakehouse and Fabric Warehouse.
• Experience with Fabric Data Pipelines and Dataflows Gen2.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT and data warehousing.
• Power BI experience.
• Experience with Azure/cloud data platforms.
• Ability to work independently and engage with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Microsoft Fabric data solutions.
• Build data ingestion, transformation and integration pipelines.
• Work with OneLake, Lakehouse and Fabric Warehouse.
• Develop and optimise Data Pipelines and Dataflows Gen2.
• Use SQL and, where applicable, PySpark/Spark.
• Develop data models and support Power BI/semantic models.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise data pipelines and workloads.
• Ensure data quality, performance and reliability.
• Translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
• Work with data, BI and business stakeholders.
