Job summary

Belay Talent Solutions in Johannesburg is seeking a Senior Data Fabric Data Engineer to design, build and deliver end‑to‑end data solutions across client engagements with a strong Microsoft Fabric, Azure and Power BI focus.

You will own the technical architecture from ingestion through Lakehouse/warehouse to semantic models, mentor junior engineers and drive production implementations and migrations to modern cloud architectures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, BI development or data warehousing in a client‑facing environment.
• Hands‑on production experience delivering Microsoft Fabric solutions including Lakehouse/Warehouse builds.
• Experience migrating legacy BI/ETL platforms to modern cloud architectures.
• Experience leading technical workstreams or small teams and mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design and build end‑to‑end Microsoft Fabric solutions across client engagements.
• Lead migrations from legacy BI/ETL platforms to modern cloud architectures.
• Own technical architecture from ingestion to semantic models for Power BI.
• Mentor engineers and lead client workshops and architectural discussions.
