Job summary

Shave Paint + Decor is seeking an External Sales Representative to promote our range of decorative and industrial paints and wall coverings. You will assist customers with product specifications, provide quotes, and drive sales while ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Based in Sandton, the role requires traveling across Gauteng and surrounding areas, building relationships with contractors and businesses, and contributing to growth through add-on sales and promotions.

Qualifications

• Matric certificate or equivalent.
• SAPMA certificate or paint qualification is advantageous.
• Valid and unendorsed driver’s licence required.
• Willingness to travel extensively across Gauteng and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Attend site meetings and inspections to gather specifications for contractors and property managers.
• Focus sales efforts by assessing existing and potential customer volume.
• Advise customers on current promotions and prices; provide quotes and product specs.
• Manage on-site visits, record orders, and follow up on sales.
• Maintain and grow existing accounts and prospect new ones through daily planning.

Shave Paint + Decor - External Sales Representative

Shave Paint + Decor is a family-founded paint retail business with strong values and business ethics. The company offers expertise in decorative and industrial paint as well as wall coverings. Shaves seeks to employ an external Sales Representative who shall assist in ensuring that our customers receive high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales services. The successful incumbent shall be responsible for marketing the various products we offer and provide product specifications to businesses and customers. The incumbent will carry out his/her duties in a manner that ensures that the company purpose is achieved, and our values are adhered to and reflected in every customer interaction.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Performance Areas

1. Attending site meetings and inspections to draw up detailed specifications for contractors, property administrators and body corporates.
2. Focus sales efforts by studying existing and potential volume of customer sales.
3. Advising customers on current promotions and prices.
4. Attending to on-site visits and provide specifications and quotes for customers.
5. Follow up on each sale.
6. Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
7. Should be on the constant lookout for sales prospects.
8. Communicate customers’ requests to management.
9. Excellent knowledge of the market conditions to aid sales.
10. Maximise the sales value of each transaction through add-on sales.

Admin

1. Completing Sales report using the Honeybee system.
2. Conducting market research.
3. Promoting new products.
4. Recording orders.
5. Monitoring competitor activity.
6. Evaluating marketing campaigns.

Ad-Hoc

1. Maintain an awareness of all promotions and advertisements (internal and external).
2. Assist in floor moves, merchandising, display maintenance, and housekeeping.
3. Assist in completing price changes.
4. Participate and assist with stock take.
5. Any other tasks as assigned from time to time by Sales and or Operations Director.
6. Ensure Branch closing procedures are completed.

Desired Experience & Qualification

1. Matric certificate.
2. SAPMA Certificate or relevant paint qualification shall serve as an advantage.
3. 3 years’ experience in a similar role and a proven record as an excellent salesperson.
4. Valid and unendorsed Driver’s licence.
5. Knowledge of Paint and Paint applications.
6. Willing to travel extensively.
