Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated External Sales Representative. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving sales growth by building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing customers. The role requires a proactive approach to identify sales opportunities, understand customer needs, and deliver tailored solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute targeted sales strategies to achieve sales goals and actively grow the customer base.
  • Proactively identify, research, and engage potential customers through cold calling, networking, and market outreach initiatives.
  • Conduct regular visits to existing clients to maintain strong relationships and anticipate evolving needs.
  • Present and demonstrate the company’s products, highlighting key features, benefits, and value propositions.
  • Negotiate and close sales deals while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by promptly addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and offering product support.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure smooth order processing and on-time deliveries.
  • Monitor and analyse industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activity to inform sales strategies.
  • Prepare and submit accurate sales reports, including activity logs, pipeline forecasts, and customer feedback.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Proven experience as an External Sales Representative or in a similar role, preferably within the jewellery or watchmaking industry.
  • Demonstrated success in developing new business and expanding client portfolios.
  • Strong understanding of sales principles, cold calling techniques, and negotiation strategies.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and comfortable working independently.
  • Strong closing skills with a consultative sales approach.
  • Proficient in MS Office and CRM software.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
  • Experience dealing with high-end/VIP customers, managing calls, arranging deliveries, and processing orders.
  • Track record of “fetching” new business and meeting aggressive sales targets.
  • Presentable, well-spoken, and professional.
  • Minimum 5 years’ sales experience with the ability to learn 6,500+ product line items (including technical aspects).
  • Highly energetic, serious go-getter with excellent organisational skills.

Working hours: Full time permanent position

Area: Cape Town, office based in Woodstock.
